President's Corner:

by Matt Elvbakken

Greetings!

I hope everyone made it back home alright.  How about Stillwater Packing eh?  Hats off to Dewey, Kathy & Jason for putting on a great convention!  Ed Daniels, as always, did a fine job of pounding smoke up our butts about gourmet patties and patty machines.  Ed is a good supplier member and always ready to step up to the plate and do his part to support our organization.  I’m looking for to my next two years as your President.

One of my main goals is to try to make it to EVERY member plant and observice how they operate to pick some things that will help us at Tizer Meats as well as share that information with the rest of the MMPA.

Another big issue for me is member solicitation and retention of existing members.  I’m asking each and everyone of you to just talk to one non-member plant per year.  Take a copy of the newsletter with you.  Send the non-member an email.  If you don’t  get along with a non-member plant near you, pick one off of the new updated list that Lyn Stowers and Lyle have so graciously provides us.  Direct them to our new & improved website provided by Kevin Harrell and your new Vice President Nichcol.  If you look at the new roster you will notice that out of the approximately 170 plants in the state, only about 30 belong to the MMPA.  I know we can do better than that.  WE ARE BETTER THAN THAT!!! Peopl, United We Stand Divided We Fall!!!  Who knows what trials and tribulations are in front of us yet.  We need everyone.  Lets put aside our differences and Git’er Done!!
